Grassy Narcy

I was lucky enough to go to Japan this May for a couple of weeks. It's basically my second home and I just miss it all the time. I wish I could be in two places at once because so much of me exists there. I spent quite a few years there walking the streets and exploring the infinite cityscapes with my camera. This time I adventured to Naoshima Island, a previously industrial island turned art island. There are quite a few Yayoi Kusama works there, including a couple of giant spotted pumkins and this work where here infamous shimmering balls were floating in a pond and strewn all about a gallery. They are part of her ongoing works 'Narcissus Garden' and originally appeared in Venice where she unofficially participated selling spheres as 'your narcissism' to you for $2. I just love her work
