What I'm really trying to capture is that feeling when you first see something - like an art work or a view or some architecture or nature - that just is so astounding that your eyes light up and your heart swells. In my paintings, I am trying to working with colour combinations, details, shapes, patterns and play with how they relate to each, merge into each other. Creating small moments of balance inside the picture as well as a attempting to achieve that as a whole piece. I love pushing myself, my brain to thing of all those things at once. Layers & layers of complexity. The adventure of of having no real plan, maybe starting with a colour palette and just making it up as I go, problem solving along the way is such a form of escapism. This painting, in the right light glows and sparkles right into your eyeballs when you least expect it.
